Wanda

Wanda is our mobile carer support service, bringing free, face-to-face support directly to communities across the Blue Mountains and regional Queensland.

Whether you’re looking for practical advice, emotional support, or help navigating systems like NDIS or aged care – Wanda meets you where you are.

We work in partnership with local community organisations to make support easier to access, more personal, and closer to home.

Where does Wanda go?

Wanda travels across communities visiting towns, health services, community centres, and local events, to make sure carers can get the support they need – when and where it suits them.

How can Wanda support you?

If you care for a family member or friend, our friendly team is here to help with:

Talk to someone who understands the caring role and can support you to understand your rights.

Including respite, free counselling, one-on-one coaching, and local peer groups.

Help to understand and access services like Carer Gateway, NDIS and My Aged Care.

Referrals to trusted local organisations, programs, and resources.

Translation services and resources

If you are more comfortable having a conversation in a language other than English, you can use the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS).

TIS is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is accessible from anywhere in Australia for the cost of a local call on 131 450. TIS can translate in more than 150 languages.
