Youth Residential Rehabilitation (YRR) is a recovery-focused program for young people aged 16-24 in the Murray, Great South Coast and Barwon regions who are experiencing mental health issues. Living in shared housing and supported by Wellways program staff, you will develop day-to-day living skills and work on identified goals around employment, education, community and family engagement and improving overall health.
The accommodation consists of multiple shared units, and the program is designed for participants to stay for a maximum of 12 months. You are supported by staff 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, and there is an 'on call’ system in place for overnight support if required.
Through YRR, we help you identify your goals, develop structure and routine, participate in program and community-based activities and engage with support workers, which will benefit your overall health and wellbeing.
You will develop daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning and shopping, and have support as you return to employment or education and re-engage with your friends, family and community.
We work with you to set goals for your life, and help you develop the confidence to achieve them.
We are more than happy to show you the program and the facilities before you submit a referral.
For those in the Murray and Great South Coast regions, initial referral and eligibility to YRR is through the Australian Community Support Organisation (ACSO), the catchment-based intake assessment provider.
If you live in the Barwon region, referral is through Wellways.
