About Ways Forward

Ways Forward is a free and inclusive service providing a safe and welcoming space for people aged 18 and over who are caring for someone at risk of suicide.

What to expect

Ways Forward is an outreach service focused on care and connection, respecting everyone’s cultural and personal needs.

When a referral is received, a peer worker with lived experience reaches out to welcome the person and understand their situation. Together, they will develop a personalised support plan that best supports their wellbeing.

Support can look like:

  • one-on-one peer support – in person, by phone, or online
  • peer-led connection groups for shared support and understanding
  • education around safety planning, coping strategies and self-care
  • service navigation and referrals for additional support
