The Specialist Residential Rehabilitation Program (SRRP) supports people experiencing mental health issues in developing daily living skills. Offered in the Murray region of Victoria, it provides assistance in accessing education and vocational opportunities for people wanting to work towards living independently within their community.
You are provided with your own fully furnished unit, and access to a common activities room, lounge and library, for the duration of your stay.
As a participant of the program, you work with your case manager and Wellways program staff to identify goals and pathways to achieve them.
The program provides opportunities for you to reconnect with work and/or education, build relationships with friends and family, and to be involved in your community. Length of stay at SRRP can be up to two years, depending on individual needs and progress meeting goals.
You will develop daily living skills and establish social connections and links to the community to maintain your long-term independence. We can assist you in identifying your own needs and goals, and support you along your individual path to recovery.
A dedicated family services worker is on hand at SRRP to involve families and carers, provide support and make referrals to other Wellways or community programs.
You will also have support from our peer workers, who have a lived experience of mental health issues.
Referral to SRRP is through Goulburn Valley Area Mental Health Service. To be eligible, you must be:
- experiencing mental health issues
- aged between 16-64
- currently linked with Goulburn Valley Area Mental Health Services (GVAMHS)
SRRP is a partnership between Wellways and Goulburn Valley Area Mental Health Service. The program is staffed 24/7.
