Welcome to your front door to mental health and wellbeing in East Gippsland. We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels welcome, supported, and valued when they visit us.

Our centre is designed to be accessible and inclusive, so you can focus on your wellbeing with ease and comfort.

Our centre is located at 24 Service St, Bairnsdale.

There are two entrances, both flat and free of stairs.

  • The Service Street entrance has double automatic sliding doors that open into the welcome space with reception, seating and a children’s corner.
  • The rear carpark entrance (via Nicholson St) has a single door, accessible via pre-arrangement only.

Public Transport

  • Bus: The nearest bus stop is at Service Street/Princes Hwy, around 100 metres or a two-minute walk from our centre.
  • Train: The Bairnsdale Railway station is around 500 metres or an eight-minute walk from our centre.

Bicycle

A bike rack is available on the footpath near our Service Street entrance.

Taxi

Please speak with staff if you require a taxi.

Parking

There free one-hour parking along Service Street, and free 2-hour parking along Nicholson Street including nearby disability parking spots. There is free all-day parking at our rear entrance via Nicholson Street.

We are dedicated to creating a welcoming and accessible environment that supports you and your needs. Our spaces are thoughtfully designed to ensure ease of movement and to be accessible for wheelchairs and mobility aids.

  • Flat and open pathways with no stairs to the entire floor.
  • Entrance leads to welcome space with seating, kid’s corner, consultation rooms with 90cm-wide doors, one accessible toilet with a 90cm-wide door, shower and change-table.
  • Communal space: An open social/communal space with comfortable seating, kitchenette and a computer kiosk with phone charging available.
  • Comfort Room: A quiet space available if you need a moment to yourself. It’s designed with comfortable seating, calm lighting, blankets, cushions, and sensory-friendly items for you to use as needed.

  • Adjustable, dimmable lighting, low light options and a natural colour palette create a soothing environment.
  • Comfortable furniture with soft textures to all rooms.
  • Carpeted flooring and noise-absorbing materials help reduce background noise.
  • Carpeted flooring to reduce sound.

Retreat Spaces and Amenities

  • Comfort Room: A quiet space available if you need a moment to yourself. It’s designed with comfortable seating, calm lighting, blankets, cushions, and sensory-friendly items for you to use as needed.
  • Communal space: An open social/communal space with comfortable seating, kitchenette and a computer kiosk with phone charging available.
  • Bathroom facilities.

  • Our centre is near streets and footpaths but receives only low levels of outdoor noise throughout.
  • Carpeted flooring to reduce sound.

Service dogs are always welcome at our centre.
