Mental Health and Wellbeing Local, a ground-breaking new service Wellways is leading in collaboration with key partners across Victoria, is seeking your valuable insights to shape its development!
This progressive Victorian Government initiative that provides free mental health support to adults closer to home, with plans to open 60 local mental health support locations across Victoria by the end of 2026.
Wellways has opened two Local Services to date and continues to play a key role in delivering Victoria’s mental health reform initiatives, leading four additional Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals across regional and rural Victoria.
Your call to help design a service that truly resonates with your community
Mental Health and Wellbeing Local is coming to Greater Shepparton, East Gippsland, Yarra Ranges, and Mildura, and we want to hear from you!
By sharing your insights with us, you will help create spaces and services that meet the mental health and wellbeing needs of your community.
Leading the collaboration groups is Local Services Lived Experience Coordinator Anita Conlon who is keen listen and learn from you, “Whether you’re currently managing mental health and wellbeing concerns or are on your path to recovery, your experience matters.
“I’m interested in hearing about the barriers you’ve faced in accessing help, the services you believe would benefit you and your community, and the type of environment in which would feel most at ease seeking assistance,” she said.
Ms. Conlon has facilitated similar collaboration groups for Local Services across Victoria and said they offer mutual benefits, “All participants have found the experience rewarding. It offers them a chance to meet and connect with other community members, share their life experiences, and skills. We get a lot done in just a few sessions but also reconvene in the future to see how we’ve implemented your feedback.
“There’s nothing like seeing the results of this collaboration come to life when the doors finally open.”
Community collaboration groups will consist of 6-8 participants, and each participant will be compensated for their time.
We are accepting expressions of interest until all positions are filled.
