About NIISQ support
Wellways is a NIISQ registered provider of attendant care and support services. We work alongside the NIISQ Agency to deliver practical, person‑centred support to eligible participants, supporting independence, wellbeing, and participation in everyday life.
We bring over 45 years of experience in mental health, disability, and complex care, with lived experience and partnership at the centre of how we work.
What to expect
NIISQ participants receive dedicated support from a compassionate and experienced team, committed to delivering best‑practice, person‑centred care tailored to individual needs and circumstances.
When supported by Wellways, you can expect:
- A dedicated Team Leader who coordinates your day‑to‑day supports and brings together a support team aligned to your needs and goals
- Access to 24/7 on‑call clinical support, providing expert guidance whenever required
- A Clinical Care Consultant (Registered Nurse) who provides clinical oversight and training to support workers
Care and support are designed for people with complex care needs and are tailored to your personal circumstances and goals, supporting you to live as independently as possible.
Support services delivered by Wellways may include:
- Physical assistance, including personal care, transfers, and mobility support
- Daily living support, such as shopping, meal preparation, transport, and community engagement
- Appointment support, including assistance to attend medical and therapy appointments
- Complex clinical care support, including catheter and bowel care, PEG feeding, wound care, and other specialised supports, delivered by trained staff with 24/7 on‑call clinical oversight
All supports are provided in line with what is assessed as necessary and reasonable by the NIISQ Agency. If additional services are required, your Team Leader can help explore further options.

NIISQ enquiries
The National Injury Insurance Scheme, Queensland (NIISQ) is a no‑fault scheme that provides necessary and reasonable lifetime treatment, care and support to those who sustain eligible serious personal injuries in a motor vehicle accident in Queensland, on or after 1 July 2016.
The National Injury Insurance Agency, Queensland (NIISQ Agency) is responsible for assessing eligibility and arranging payment of necessary and reasonable treatment, care and support for NIISQ participants, as well as managing and monitoring the provision of these services.
