What can you expect from the program?

My Recovery enables you to explore ways to improve your mental health and wellbeing in a supportive peer group.

The program supports you to:

  • develop healthier relationships that are sustainable and mutually supportive
  • strengthen your sense of identity
  • explore personal concepts of recovery and wellbeing
  • grow an awareness of your rights as well as the confidence to communicate and defend these

The program is held in a group setting and is facilitated by people who have a lived experience of mental health issues and recovery.

What is My Recovery?

My Recovery is a group based-education program for people with a lived experience of mental health issues.

The program provides an opportunity to develop skills and courage around exploring recovery and wellbeing.

Facilitated by peers with a lived experience of mental health issues and recovery, My Recovery is delivered using a range of learning approaches including discussions, videos, tablet and phone apps and practical activities.

The program is delivered by Wellways Australia and is available free of charge.

Why peer education?

Wellways Peer Education offers a unique opportunity for participants to share and learn from the experiences of other people living with mental health issues. It takes place in a supportive environment that promotes learning and positive action.

Wellways peer education programs are delivered by Wellways Australia in locations across Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. Programs are also delivered by partner organisations in various locations, including Queensland and Western Australia.

A two session program, developed to meet the needs of people who are unable to commit to the full My Recovery program.

My Recovery for Youth

A nine session program intended for young people between the ages of 15 and 26 experiencing mental health issues.
