Wellways Australia is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the contract to manage two Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) services in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, in collaboration with Eastern Health, from 1 July 2020.

As a leader in the provision of mental health recovery and support services in Australia, the management of these PARC facilities will see Wellways double the number of Step-up-Step Down PARCs we operate in Victoria.

Wellways Regional Manager Jasmine Corbo said “being awarded the contract to run these two PARCs in Ringwood and Mont Albert, is a great vote of confidence in the way Wellways operates these important community mental health services. It demonstrates our support services are highly regarded and our collaborative, innovative programs are valued. We look forward to working in partnership with Eastern Health to offer supportive and responsive PARC programs to the local community”.

For the first time Wellways will offer a new initiative within the PARC program - PARC@Home. Building upon the recovery focus within PARC and extending this to a successful transition to home, the model provides a period of peer-led supports post-PARC alongside our Peer Helpline. It provides fast peer support to participants helping them continue to strengthen their skills and confidence gained within the PARC community and prevent everyday issues escalating into relapse.

Wellways has seen a real need for a PARC@Home service to be developed in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs. The new service will allow more people to benefit from our high-quality supports that focus on a participant’s sense of self, connection with peers and community inclusion.
