The annual SEW-EURODRIVE fundraising gala raised $76,000 in support of Wellways Australia.
A 20-year association with Wellways – and its precursors - has seen the German equipment manufacturer raise more than $1.8 million for the cause of better mental health and improved care.
The southern outpost of a German machinery firm, SEW-EURODRIVE has held annual fund-raising events for Wellways since 1997. This year a golf day and dinner dance on October 27 pushed the total along by a record $76,000.
“It’s definitely been a long-running and worthwhile association for us,” said Wellways Australia chief executive officer, Elizabeth Crowther. “They have been incredible supporters.”
“SEW-EURODRIVE has made an enormous contribution to our advocacy and support work in mental health. They have helped thousands of people; you just can’t underestimate that.”
Other supporters of the event were the ANZ bank and many other businesses including Travel by Ange and Noise at Works.
Each year Wellways Australia supports hundreds of people with mental health issues to recover, develop and live in the community.
