Following a recent review of National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services and supports Wellways Australia currently provide to participants, we have made the difficult decision to progressively and carefully scale down the delivery of selected NDIS funded supports over the next 4 months.
After much consideration, we have made this difficult decision in order to ensure our service is sustainable and our commitment to quality is never allowed to diminish in favour NDIS expansion.
Wellways is not withdrawing as an NDIS provider, instead we are refocusing our NDIS efforts to the areas of expertise that Wellways has been providing for more than 40 years; directly working with people with high and complex care needs.
Over next the four months we will gradually manage the transition from the range of services we currently provide to participants, to a more focused range of NDIS supports. These will include Supported Independent Living, Support Coordination and Recovery Coaching services.
We will work with all NDIS participants to ensure they understand what the changes we have announced might mean for them. Our priority is to ensure those participants who are directly affected experience a smooth transition to another service provider of their choice and that no one is left without care and support at any stage during transition.
We know that many of our participants have built trusting and important relationships with our staff over the years and understand that this could be a challenging time.
Although it is a tough decision, we believe it aligns with our vision and values and it is the right thing to do. We have decided to inform all Wellways NDIS participants about the changes now because we want to be honest and transparent about our future.
