More than 80 young people living with serious mental illness in Greater Sydney and Hunter New England NSW will receive support each year across three new Youth Community Living Supports Services (YCLSS) sites we've just opened.
“We will support young people to be excited and hopeful for their future,” YCLSS program manager Nicola Lomax said.
“Our program supports the personal recovery of young people through tailored community psychosocial support.”
Nicola says she’s feeling excited and hopeful about launching the program.
“Wellways has delivered effective support and care for the past six years in South West Sydney and Northern NSW. I am looking forward to expanding on that to ensure we can effectively help young people in their recovery journey.”

Successfully supports young people with severe mental health to avoid chronic disability
Successfully supports young people to achieve goals and experience many of their dreams that they had previously believed not possible.
Northern NSW Regional Manager Renee Bridge says Wellways Youth Community Living Supports Services have also shown to minimise the risk of young people developing chronic disability.
“We have years of experience that has shown we have the skills to create and manage great relationships with local clinical services to support 15–24-year-olds on their recovery journey,” she said.
Renee helped set up the new sites and recruit 13 new team members.
“I am positive the new teams will do a great job in expanding on the work we are doing elsewhere. It’s been a huge effort to get ready for this launch and want to thank everyone involved.
“I have been with Wellways now since 2015, from when we first launched the pilot the Youth Community Living Support Service and so saying that I am excited is an understatement!
“I am thrilled that Wellways is now the only organisation to be delivering this service across NSW. It is a real acknowledgment of the hard work and commitment from Wellways.
“Everyone is dedicated to the program, including the youth and their families in the communities we work in and for our ability to work so positive and collaboratively with our Local Health District partners.”
